Victoria + Albert Freestanding Baths

Victoria + Albert Baths is a British brand with a worldwide reputation for creating beautiful freestanding baths and basins.

Formed in 1996 with a passion for baths and bathing, the organisation has a head office in the United Kingdom and dedicated South African production facilities. As the ultimate statement in quality and style, models packed with inspirational freestanding designs are made from 100% QUARRYCAST.

Two South African brothers, Nico and Alwyn Neethling, had developed an innovative composite material made from a rock we now call Volcanic Limestone™ and mixed with resin. The unique properties of the material made it both beautiful and hard wearing. British entrepreneur, Chris Davies, realised the potential for the composite within the bathroom sector and the partners began casting the first traditional freestanding baths in a factory in Worcester, Cape Town.

QUARRYCAST® is made from finely ground Volcanic Limestone™ mixed with resin and carries a 25 year consumer guarantee.  As the stone-rich alternative to both cast iron and acrylic it is 100% one piece, hand finished and packed with naturally desirable properties-

  • Warm –  Due to the quality of the QUARRYCAST® material it has high insulation properties and is warm to the touch
  • Beautiful –  The Volcanic Limestone™ mineral delivers a naturally white, gloss finish, featuring excellent stain resistance
  • Strong –  This raw material has special needle-like particles formed by the rock undergoing super heating. When mixed with resins these bond together to create an incredibly strong web.
  • Renewable –  Easy clean solid surface – as the material is solid all the way through, internal scratches simply polish out
  • Practical –  Drillable for unique brassware installation
  • Unique –  Hand finished interior — exterior can be painted or personalised after purchase

Combining elegant sculpted design with unrivalled quality and performance, Victoria + Albert’s free standing baths make stunning centrepieces in any bathroom.
